Get KMix and KRecord--how?
« on: November 28, 2010, 11:31:47 PM »
I have some instructions on recording YouTube audio. The instructions are really for SuSE, but I have found and downloaded the
other files from the repo.  However, it would like KMix and KRecord, and I don't find them in Synaptic Package Manager.  Is there
some way I can get these files?

The instructions are a little complicated, and I can't remember where I found them. I think the instructions will allow working from
a GUI; I have found some that work from the CLI, but that precludes easily finding the source using Firefox in the GUI and just recording
from what's on screen/speaker.  Anyway, seeing what I'd like to do, does anyone reading here have an easier way?

Just open and start the youtube video - then pause the video and let it load completely.
Now with the firefox window still open, open your file manager to the temp folder and find
the flash file, right click on it and rename it with a .flv extention ( youtube.flv ) and then move it
to the folder of your choice.
Now you have the youtube video saved.

Now you can use ffmpeg to rip the audio from the video
here is a how to:
