Auto "Switch User" Launcher
« on: November 27, 2010, 03:01:39 PM »
I was going to post a question to ask which command executes the "switch user" function in PCLOS 2010 Gnome, but in waiting for my account to activate, I figured it out.  Decided to post my answer here in case anyone searches on the same problem:

gdmflexiserver --startnew Standard

What can I say... I'm lazy and don't want to click System -> Logout -> Switch User.  Actually, I really wanted to create a launcher icon for my wife so it's easier for her to switch to her user, otherwise she'll just open up a browser and do stuff as me >:-(  Wish I could send her username as an argument to the gdmflexiserver command.  If anyone has successfully tested the syntax to do that, please post here.

Thanks!
-James

Thanks man.  Yes, I am a script nut.  If I have to do anything more than once, I will find a way to script it :-)

Welcome to the forums, perl_scripter. You are into scripting,eh? :D We have some scripting discussions on occasion in the Advanced Users section, if you're interested.
