How do we get netflix to reconize linux for their down loads?.Why would they not expand their customer base? What do they care what OS I'm using? They raised they prices to get people to jump over to streaming. ok. I'm done bitchen'.

The real question is: What kind of spam/garbage/spyware/selling-your-info-on-the-sly crap are they loading on the cannon-fodder that is Winders and Mac, that they couldn't get away with on Linux without us knowing and busting them out for it?

Neither Hulu nor Crackle require me to install any "app", and they stream just fine.

Netflix is one of the few reasons I dual-boot. Damn it. Hasn't somebody in the nix community crushed this yet?

I wonder if their application they make you download would run in Wine? At least then, you could definitely have a good look-see at it and control what it has access to, and see if it's "phoning home" or elsewhere.

Roku works well with Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and many other and can probably be found for under $100 on Ebay. A better solution maybe then double booting.

And I'll bet that dirty word, DRM, was involved. It may have not even really been Netflix's fault. They have to meet the demands of the paranoid movie companies who probably here Linux and think hackers.

Nothing suspicious, Neal. They just didn't want to reveal their "trade secrets" to a group of open source coders. It would have shown how to crack/break their encryption (or their lack of it).

Hmm...... maybe. Or maybe there's some "extras" in their code. (I may be paranoid, but they are out to profit off of me. ;) ;D)
