SOLVED:Can't turn off desktop flip in e17
« on: November 21, 2010, 02:11:35 PM »
Recently installed e17, 2010.11, full version, from http://pclosusers.com/pclosusers/isos/livecd/pclinuxos-enlightenment.2010.11.iso. Double checked md5sum of iso before burning CD. Ran media check on first boot of CD before installing. Fully updated from PASS server. Installed kernel is 2.6.33.7-pclos6.a64.

Modules loaded are:
Utilities: Calendar, Clock, Forecasts, Pager, Screenshot, Start, Systray, TClock, Taskbar and Winselector
System: Mixer and Places
Look: Dropshadow
Files: EFM(Starter), EFM Navigation, EFM Operation Info and Trash
Launcher: Everything (Starter), Everything Applications, Everything Files, Everything Settings, Everything Tracker, Everything Windows and Run Command
Core: Gadgets, Notification, Settings Panel, System Controls, Tiling and Window Switcher List
Mobile: (none)
Settings: (all, except Wallpaper 2)

Virtual Desktops Settings are:
Number of Desktops=4, Animated flip is UNCHECKED
Desktop Mouse Flip, both options are UNCHECKED
Flip Animation is set to Off

I've always been able to turn the desktop flip off, until now. Is there a setting I am overlooking?

In the settings panel go to input and click edge binding and delete the bindings for the desktop edges.
You probably have reset them to defaults cause they are disabled on both e17 isos.

Every windows machine has an un-patchable critical vulnerability... Its called "Power ON" switch.

Thanks, smurfslover. That worked. But I hadn't touched those settings. They were there "out of the box", after installing. That does correct the problem.

I spent a few minutes doing a search here for "desktop flip", but didn't turn your link up. Thanks for pointing that out.
