PCLOS on Network Crashes SMC EZ-Stream
« on: November 21, 2010, 06:22:12 PM »
Hi All:

We and a few SMC EZ-Streams (specifically model # SMCWAA-G) on our network.  These are great little UPnP clients that grab audio off an UPnP server or an internet radio station and provide analog audio outputs so you can hook up to your stereo, etc.  All of our units have dedicated IP addresses and have worked fine for years.

We have recently found PCLOS and love it.  Problem is when any of these devices is happily receiving an audio stream, once a PCLOS box is brought up on the network the SMC box locks up and quits outputting audio.  I have done exhaustive tests to make sure it is when the PCLOS box is turned on and this is always repeatable.

Interesting thing is, the PCLOS box doesn't have to be logged into to crash the SMC box.  This happens within a minute or two of getting the log on screen in PCLOS.  Last thing is none of the PCLOS boxes are running UPnP servers so that has bee ruled out.

Any help on what PCLOS is sending over the network to crash these boxes would be very much appreciated.  For that matter any ideas on how to trouble shoot would be great.

Thanks in advance.
