My problem is probably simple, but I am pretty new at Linux.
After dual booting one computer with Windows XP and PCLinuxOS and everything working like a charm, I got bold and thought, "Why not just load PCLinuxOS by itself, on my spare computer"? Ran the LIVECD and watched as everything loaded up. EXCEPT.............no internet connection. It seems that the rt8191SE chip in my wireless network adapter on that computer, had no driver. Searches have given me all kinds of contradictory information.
One says there is no driver, another says there is, another says to set up a WIRED connection first and then get updates from the package manager, and still another said I would have to compile one.
Using version 2010.1 and KDE 4.5.3
I would appreciate any help anyone can give this Linux newbie.
