Can anyone print from PCLOS to a printer connected to a WinXP networked (samba) machine?

I don't print much, and the printer is connected to my wife's machine.  At  one time, (may have been in 3.5.10 days) I set this printer up with PCC, it found it just fine and printed no hassle or anything. But after all the updates recently it does not.   Trying to set it up automatically, with instructions to find a printer on a networked machine, printerdrake finds a printer  on parallel port lp0.  Obviously incorrect since this machine has no printer and the printer on my wife;s machine is connected to a USB  port. And accepting it as OK doesn't result in any printer action.

Edit:  Yes the printer on the XP machine is set up to share.

Not sure if I'm allowed to put in a link to my public Dropbox folder or if it will even work.  See link to crappy quality .pdf I created for one of my clients.

Hope it helps.

Hi guy!

Thanks for the help.  I finally got it to work.  Problem is --  PCLOS had always automatically found this printer before.  This time I had to go thru your steps, (very good treatise, incidentally)

One very confusing issue to me, was this.  When I set Printerdrake to automatically find a printer on my network, it always came back and said it had found something on the parallel port.  And there is nothing on that port, nothing on parallel ports anywhere in my network.
