PClos 2010.10 Ext2
« on: November 16, 2010, 05:37:12 PM »
Just as a matter of interest.   I did an install on a new (used nx6230) laptop and everything went OK.  Rebooted it during the course of setting up and updating it and everything went well.  This morning I booted and got some kernel panic....that's not particularly important,  What's interesting is that when checking things out I found that root partition had been formatted in ext2 not ext4.  I did a standard install using free space and accepted the defaults. I've just done another install and went to manual to force ext4 formatting.  It left me wondering whether this is happening on new installs using free space.
