E-17 Light & GTK+ & GTK-Appearence(LXAppearence)

I just noticed in GTK_Appearence, if you try to change the color of the GTK theme it doesn't "stick". Some GTK themes won't let you change them of course, but the ones you can will change in the dialog window but when you hit "apply", nothing happens.

Did you copy the theme to the appropriate directory (usr/share/themes, or ~/.themes)?  Do that, then everything should work.  I was having trouble with the same thing.

I`ve had the same issue.
But after reboot it disappeared.
Perhaps relogin is enough.

well, I've tried logging out then back in, rebooting, tried with the theme in ~/.themes and /usr/share/themes. the color change won't stick.

Sorry for the late reply, just delete the .gtkrc-2.0 file in your ~, after that relogin and setup your gtk with lxappearance, color changing now works.
No idea what happens cause i can't see no difference between the old file and the new one that get's created on relogin. ???

no problem about the late reply. however, it didn't fix mine. normally I don't bother installing themes in root, do you think that may be an issue?
