E17: trashcan problems
« on: November 15, 2010, 11:11:48 AM »

On the desktop I cannot delete files to the Trash, nor can I drag and drop them.  Works OK in Dolphin.

According to http://code.google.com/p/e17mods/wiki/Trash  this was fixed:

Todo / Bugs

    * When placed on the desktop the drop doesn’t work

At least that's what I think the author meant by striking through that line.   ???

Nor do I see a right-click 'send to Trash' or similar.  'Delete' is delete, it's gone.

Am I missing something here?  (wouldn't be the first time   ;D  )

Works fine in Thunar.

Also works fine in Dolphin.  Doesn't work fine on the desktop.  Doesn't work at all on the desktop.

Is it supposed to?

Agust, do you always use it from within a file manager such as Thunar?

In KDE, Gnome, etc., you can drag a file on the desktop over to the Trash and drop it there.  Not so in E17?

The above web page says

...what to say... it’s just a trash, you can drag files from your favorite file manager into the trash and you can empy the trash with a right click.

maybe the E17 trash is only usable from within a file manager.   :P

Can someone confirm this?
