« on: November 12, 2010, 06:43:51 PM »
1. How can i fix the clicking of my hdd ? And where to add that command line so that every time i boot up it is executed.

2. The kde clock in the panel doesnt fit :( Anyway to solve that

3. Floola doesnt recognize my ipod at first. I have to go the folder of the drive and then run it.

4. I use Kwin. I want all the windows opened to show up (like mac style) when i move the cursor to the top left. (with compiz i did it once).

5. Enable ctrl+c and ctrl+v in the konsole.

THANKS A LOT AND KEEP THE GOOD WORK

Hey asdfchanta,

#2 >  I had the same problem. I fixed it by right clicking on the clock in the taskbar and going to clock settings?/config? and changing to a different font style.

#4 > I use this great function too with compiz, but I'm not sure if Kwin can do it. I haven't used it much.

Have you searched the forum for your other problems? It might be better to start different threads for the Floola and konsole problems. And the 3D/compiz section might be a good place to ask about your Kwin problem.

 :)

where to add that command line so that every time i boot up it is executed.

More info is needed on this one, if you have a command you want to run as a daemon with root privileges, add it to "/etc/rc.local" script. This script is the last script that runs just before the GUI show up when you boot

If you want the script to start up on login and to run with logged in user privileges, go to "system settings -> system administration -> start up and shut down -> autostart" and add your script here

ps:
rules of the forum demands one question per post.
You asked these questions and most likely somebody else will too sooner or later, having one question per thread and with a descriptive title will help a lot of those who will have the same questions but search first before re asking the questions. These rules are in place not to inconvenience you, but to make the forum more functional for you and those who will come after you who may seek answers to the same questions you have.

#4 if you have "present windows" checked in desktop effects... Configure your Desktop - Workspace Appearance - Desktop Effects.  ctrl+f10 will show all windows.  You can configure how they get displayed.

5. Enable ctrl+c and ctrl+v in the konsole.

<Ctrl>+<c> interrupts the running command... so that's not going to work I think....

Just use <Ctrl><Shift><c> and <Ctrl><Shift><v>....
that has to work
=> you can change that in Konsole >> Settings >> Configure your shortcuts....
But remember... don't give <Ctrl><c> to copy... else you'll probably experience some problems in the future......

I had this issue once and making the panel taller helped. I've had some really weird issues with KDE doing random stuff with the panel.

5. Enable ctrl+c and ctrl+v in the konsole.

As rubentje1991 pointed out that would be counterproductive. (Ctrl+c and Cntrl+v will work in most editors though.)

But actually you can copy and paste in many different ways. You can use Ctrl+Shift+c and Ctrl+Shift+v as rubentje1991 suggested. Or you could use Ctrl+Insert for "copy" and Shift+Insert for "paste". Or you could use the menus.

Or why not do it the Unix/Linux way? Just mark what you want to copy and middle-click where you want it inserted.

Or use the clipboard in combination with any of the above.
