Delayed bulk LXDE 2010 update to 2010.10: Icons won't launch. (SOLVED)

Now that I have more bandwidth for updates that I didn't have before, I did a huge update last night of what was pretty much an original 2010.7 install on an 8Gb SD plugged into an Eeep 701. Yes, I know it's naughty not to stay up to date and I deserve grief, but there seem to be only a few hiccups and a beautiful OS to show for it.

My Desktop icons don't do anything! Oh, they shade like they used to when clicked, but that's all. I tried adding a fresh icon to see if it only afflicted the indigenous ones with no success there either. The PCC> route works though. Please, what am I missing?

Open /home/<you>/.config/pcmanfm and delete the main and main.lxde files. Do not delete the folder named default. Exit PCManFM, log out and log in.

Neal: Good morning. I did the instructions and report that the main.lxde file has been recreated but main has not. And the icons still sulk. Can we make another one?

In ~/.config/pcmanfm there should be no files and there should be one folder, 'default.' If there are any files, delete them. Then look in ~/.config/pcmanfm/default. you should see 3 files, desktop-items-0.conf, main.lxde and pcmanfm.conf. Delete main.lxde and pcmanfm.conf. Do not delete desktop-items-0.conf!!! Reboot.

Done and dusted, Neal. There was originally a file called main. in .config/pcmanfm/ along with the folder Default. I should have noted what was in them before deleting. For the Private Learning Curve, what might have produced the sulky icons that I could have spotted? In layman's terms please.

By dusted, do you mean it is working now?

The file 'main' in ~/.config/pcmanfm would have had essentially the same content as 'main.lxde' in ~/.config/pcmanfm/default.

If the issue has been corrected, please modify your first post in this thread to add [Solved] to the title.

Sorry Neal. Yes, the problem is solved. One tends to become wrapped in one's self-import and forgets that colloquial Kiwi isn't an international version of the English language. Thanks for your patience.
