Open Office Problem

When I opened open office today all of a sudden it gives me: "OpenOffice.org requires a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to perform this task. The selected JRE is defective. Please select another version or install a new JRE and select it under Tools-OpenOffice.org-Java".

I have not made any changes to the JRE so I'm not sure why it's giving me this error. Can I simply reinstall something? I'm using LXDE with the latest kernel and all the updates..

In synaptic, reload the repo then search for java and do a reinstall.

That will likely correct it.

Did you try doing as the message says? If you do, and it doesn't work, use getopenoffice to remove openoffice and remove java (JRE) via Synaptic. The use getopenoffice to install openoffice and java.
