New lxde install problem <SOLVED>

I've installed lxde, was working fine.  I changed the wallpaper, setup email, etc.  Shut down and restarted, now I don't have any window decorations, and the cursor stays at the wristwatch on the desktop all the time.

I've tried other sessions... openbox, lxde-kde, but they don't start or look the same.

What have I done, and how can I fix it?

I don't know what and if you did something wrong, but I will suggest you create a new user, and see if in a new user account you still meet with the issue (in PCC)

The Add user opens the dialog box, but I can't type in the blanks.

Could you go to a tty, login there as root, then:

1) look at /home/user/.xsession-errors to see if you can see something relevant  // instead of "user", go to your home, with the "cd /home/your_user" command : user or your_user here means your login.

2) invoke adduser and create a new user

?

To go to tty : keys Ctrl+Alt+F1 (F1 to F6 leads to a tty, F7 or F8 can bring you back to X session)

I should have thought of that.  It worked perfectly.  I created a new user, deleted the old, now everything seems fine.

I guess I'll have to be a little more careful in the future.
