[SOLVED] Start up problem after HDD cloning

Kind of a weird problem.
I recently cloned my system on to a much larger hard drive and now it “hangs” on start up unless I unplug my USB hub. Once it's at the log in screen I can plug it back in and all works well. I've tried this with another hub which doesn't hang the machine per se it just increases the time to get to the log in screen by about 2 minutes. I would rather use the original hub as it is in the monitor and my desktop space is rather limited even for something as small as a hub.

when your computer start up, press "esc" key to turn to verbose mode boot up and pay attention to services that are starting up and look for a service that hangs or take forever to start up, does such a service exist, whats its name?

I should check the (hdx,x) and UUID items in /boot/grub/menu.lst and /etc/fstab.
UUID is surely changed with a new disk.

I'm not really sure what happened but after posting here and booting with the hub(s) plugged into different ports on the computer the problem has resolved.
thanks for the help.
