Use LG VX9900 as a modem
« on: October 26, 2010, 06:04:02 PM »
Hi all,

OK, so I've been trying to get this to work for about a month, and I've finally come to the conclusion that my phone isn't even recognized when I plug it into the computer. Running the command "lsusb" only shows four USB hubs on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1150).

I've recently been reading about using LGDownload 1.3.xxx and the VX9900.dll to enable DUN on the phone, but is there any other way to go about this? Are there some drivers that I could download? Where should I go from here? ???

hello and welcome to the forum

the dll you mention is only useful on windows, it is a library specific for windows and won't work on linux

some cellphones can be set to work in a certain way, to act as a camera, as a usb device/printer, as a phone/modem or as a usb mass storage device

have you verified this option on this phone?

if this phone is only capable of act as a modem with the cellphone software suite from lg, it is not a good candidate to use on another platform, it is tied to windows afik
