« on: October 25, 2010, 04:04:57 PM »
Hello. Do any of you guys know of any open source web site building software. I'm looking to start a small welding business . I know their are a boat load of free/paid sites on google etc.  Their are so many to choose from. I'm looking at my options . Thanks.

How much HTML do you know?

If not much, Kompozer is a "will do" type wysiwyg editor.

Hi zezerbing,

depends on what you knowledge level is. Most commonly your ISP might have a tool to setup a website.

If you want to work it out yourself with HTML and CSS, KompoZer might be a nice option. Bluefish is a good sourcecode editor. You'll find both via Synaptic.

Just my favourite choices, but there are much more of course.

Ups, Rudge was faster....
All that is is good. PCLinuxOS is.

It's not about speed, it's about knowledge. The OP now has two options.  ;)  ;D

Gedit. or leafpad. notepad if yer in winders.  ;)

Be sure to check yer code in Internet Exploder, 8 is a piece of goram gosa that doesn't like to render code the way every other browser in the known universe does.

Its not rocket science.

I use Kompozer and SeaMonkey both, but I find that SeaMonkey renders code better for viewing on Internet Explorer.
