maybe a tutorial on how to install PCLOS as a guest?

Does anyone think it might be nice if there was a how-to on installing PCLOS as a guest in the various virtualization programs? Just to people would know things like PCLOS won't install with the SATA controller in VirtualBox etc? And things like memory requirements, other settings etc. Just at the top of this thread.

In Virtualbox you must (since a few versions ago) enable (tick) I/O cache in the Preferences section at the Sata subsection.

For what a tutorial is concerned, you can write one if you like. The thing is, we are waiting for the wiki to be restored  : Textar said recently that this might be some time before the end of the year.

Actually if you mean enabling the host hardware cache, I did that. I actually thought after it failed maybe I shouldn't have. But, I do know it will install on the IDE controller, so I did that.

as far as me writing a tutorial, if I knew enough about VirtualBox and/or PCLOS, I wouldn't of been looking for one

However writing a tutorial for others is one of the best ways to learn that I know of. Believe me ! I know what I am talking about.

In there it points to a very complete vbox users manual (246pages). Not exactly the same as a tutorial, but very detailed, written in user level language.

I am looking forward to digging in, as soon as I finish the latest PCLOS magazines.

I'm running VirtualBox 3.2.10 on an iMac running 10.6.4. What I am trying to figure out is what I need to have in PCLOS to make sure the PUEL version of the guest additions are running correctly. As you know, I have installed Openbox this morning and some things work, somethings don't. Shared folders seem to work, shared clipboard nope. My mouse works but I noticed it's not fully integrated, nor does the mouse driver from PCLOS or  the one from VB show up when I go to configure the mouse.

there are a few files not installed in the Openbox version that other flavors of PCLOS have. Like "dkms-vboxadditions" and "dkms-virtualbox", the former's description says its the "Kernel module for VirtualBox OSE additions", then we have the latter which says "VirtualBox OSE module". I don't know if I need both, one or the other or neither. What is installed are "x11-driver-input-vboxmouse" and "x11-driver-video-vboxvideo". Both are X.org drivers" in VirtualBox guests. Which could mean VirtualBox guests running inside PCLOS or PCLOS as a guest.

I really wanted to run the PUEL versions of the VirtualBox guest additions, so I am really trying to figure out wht I need to remove or add to make sure PCLOS is running as a guest the way it should be.

I did install the PUEL guest additions but not everything is working as I mentioned

Are you talking about the different packages related to Virtualbox ? If this is so you might write a post at the section "Software" to suggest it.
