Pulse connection refused [SOLVED]
« on: October 25, 2010, 01:18:34 AM »
Konsole output when starting an application:

Code: [Select]
ALSA lib pulse.c:229:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused

ALSA lib setup.c:565:(add_elem) Cannot obtain info for CTL elem (MIXER,'IEC958 Playback Default',0,0,0): No such file or directory
ALSA lib pulse.c:229:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused

ALSA lib pulse.c:229:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused

I have some of the libs for pulse-audio installed but not the pulse-audio package itself.  Should I remove them or rather  install pulse-audio as well?

Installed:
                                                           alsa-plugins-pulse-config
                                                           libalsa-plugins-pulseaudio
                                                           libgsm1
                                                           libpulseglib20
                                                           xine-pulse

For about the last month I am also getting connection refused when attempting to use Pulse Audio Volume Control.  I started a thread, but have also had no responses.  Are you still experiencing this problem?

Terry  (Good name you've got  ;) )

Thanks for the heads up.  This fixed my issue.  Pulse Audio had been working fine until recently.  I use it to send sound to a bluetooth headphones.

Terry

P.S.  Welcome to the forum.

Apparently I was nearly a David but my older sisters prevailed  ;D

P.S.  Welcome to the forum.

Thanks.  I have to say I'm very impressed with PCLOS as a distro (it just works!) and I like the very helpful spirit in this forum.  I hope I can use some of my Linux experience to help others.

Cheers,
Terry
