Turned off Synaptic Touch Pad and Need it Back Again [solved]
« on: October 20, 2010, 07:05:13 PM »
I was trying to adjust my synaptic touch pad and hit the button to turn it off.  Now I cannot move the cursor to open the synaptic panel back up to get it back.  How can back control of the cursor?

Plug in a usb mouse and make your change.

The above advice is very good.

You can try this too:

Use keyboard combo Alt + F2 to get "Run application" window. Type in konsole. In the konsole type in the name of the program that is used to config the mouse. Use Alt + Tab to switch to this window. Use tab in the window the switch between options and to apply them. Space bar should be used to "tick" or "untick" boxes... When done Tab to OK button and press ENTER.

This SHOULD do it.

Thank you.  I was able to use Konsole to fix it.  The command for synaptics touchpad is "syndaemon".
