"session locked by user" on boot
« on: October 16, 2010, 10:41:17 AM »
Hi.  Never had this problem before latest update.  Running KDE desktop, all latest updates as of Oct 16, 2010.  Whenever I start the computer, instead of going to the desktop it stays black screen until I wake it up via the keyboard or touchpad.  On wake up it displays session locked by user--I type in the password and all is good.  I've set it to login automatically and have recently changed no settings.  Have found no similar posts here or anywhere on google.  In other words have tried to RTFM...  Thanks for reading

Have you tried redoing auto login? Many kde upgrades set everything back to default settings.

Thanks for your reply.  Yes, I did try reloading, resetting etc.  I've since noticed that my boot splash screen doesn't come up either.  The system will eventually boot, go to black, I'll move the mouse and the "system locked" dialog comes up.  I enter my password and all seems normal from there...
