I had earlier asked a question about Enlightenment which I had installed along with my Gnome install. I decided just to do a fresh install of Enlightenment as a guest in VirtualBox. However, the .iso is very old now and when I went to update it, there were 600 pkgs to download and install. The download part wasn't an issue as I am running on a 35Mbit fiber line and only takes a couple minutes. The problem is, I have tried twice now to update it. The first time it dropped into the tty screen and sat on the localhost login line and I didn't know if it was ever restarting on it's own or not. The second time I tried, (after re-re-installing) E-17 crashed about halfway in with a message about recompiling my kernel with some flag or other. I also noticed, although I have the PUEL version of VirtualBox and installed the guest additions, during the update it seems to insist on installing the OSE additions. I've never had this much trouble just updating.
Is the .iso so old I can't update the install successfully?
the install seems to work fine btw.
