ATI HDTV Wonder...almost there...Need little help

OK, after getting the correct firmware and placing it in /lib/firmware.  Following the instructions at http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/ATI/AMD_HDTV_Wonder I placed the options in modulesprobe.conf then rebooted.  I then did a dmesg and observed that the options placed in modulesprobe.conf was giving error messages in dmesg output.  Maybe this not where the options should go.  I need to get NXT2004 to load up the firmwear for these cards.  Suggestions?

We need to place the options in /etc/modprobe.d/options and you would do this if you have the "VE" variant otherwise leave alone. If you don't have the file 'options' then create one.

EPE, although you downloaded the firmware from avermedia I would be inclined to have followed the instructions on the page I linked to you. Firstly install the kernel source thru synaptic package manager relevant to the kernel you have installed and in konsole su to root then type

# perl get_dvb_firmware nxt2004
when the script has done its job and while still in root type

I followed the instructions on the cited web page to the letter
placed the extracted dvb-fe-nxt2004.fw file in /lib/firmware
place "options cx88xx card=34" in modprobe.conf   (there is no /ect/modprobe.d/options)
rebooted and here is my dmesg output:

under /dev/dvb there are two adapters listed:
adaptero & adapter1
in each of this dir there is:
demux0, dvr0, frontend0 net0 with a "?" on the icon for each file

so, how do we get dvb-fe-nxt2004.fw to load up?

I have created /etc/modprobe.d/options and placed the following in the text file
options cx88xx card=34

still, the firmware is not loading

EPE, I would suggest you have an incompatable firmware, download the kernel source relevant to the kernel you are using and follow previous post

when the script has done its job and while still in root type

# cp dvb-fe-nxt2004.fw /lib/firmware
