Hi, Gang,
Maybe part of this is my approach to KDE 4.x, and this situation is not a "problem" per se, just somewhat curious. I'm running the 2010 initial stable release (i.e., the ".04"?), but it is fully updated. I've searched for articles relating to this issue but have been unsuccessful locating any.
Here's the deal: when I drag an icon from my menu to a desktop, if it's desktop one, the icons are larger than they are for any other desktop (I run a total of eight). I can still see the others well enough, but is there a way to resize them? I've looked through the "new & improved" KDE Control Center (Configure Your Desktop) but haven't seen anything about this. I've also looked into the right-click menu on a given icon to see if something relevant is there, but not as I can tell.
I have the feeling someone will tell me that I need to stop thinking of them as icons or desktop shortcuts and think of them as plasmoids, but I'm just not there yet, and that still doesn't explain why desktops 2 - 8 should have different behavior than 1.
Thanks for any practical insights here.
Later On,
D
{EDIT} Found the work-around! Highlighting an icon on the "desktop" brings up a little side menu that has a resize box! Click and hold on the resize box, then drag to resize the icon. Ya have to fiddle to get them all the same size, but at least now I can see the little buggers!
