Dell 720 ink jet (lexmark?) recognised, but will not print.
« on: October 01, 2010, 09:11:26 AM »
I thought I had a convert to 2010 until coming across his printer.

Trying some Dell selections in PCC, it would install as a Dell 720, and when printing a text page, it shows on the printer menu, appears to send the data to the printer ok, no errors.
But the printer just sits there.

At the time I did not know it might be a Lexmark.

Googling, I found this link of success on another distro, but don't know how to do it for 2010.07.

Now, since he only had rewriteable cd's, I used the mini kde version to install pclos. Maybe if we're lucky, i'm just missing something he could get from synaptic.

Or could someone rewrite the above link instructions for 2010?

Thanks.
