In my work I have created some invoice's using Openoffice
I submit these invoices for payment by exporting the completed document as .pdf files and then email them to my clients.
Lately I have had a need to alter a completed invoice ( black out an area ) to send them to my clients customers.
I was unable to find a way to black out the area with OpenOffice so I used GIMP to open the exported .pdf file
and edit the document, now GIMP does not have the function to export as a .pdf (at least I haven't found it )
so I saved the document as a .jpg.
So now I am scratching my head and searching synaptic for PDF software to convert the .jpg file to .pdf , so that I
can email this as a proof of purchase to the clients customer.
Out of desperation I decided to try renaming the customer_whatever.jpg file to customer _whatever.pdf
I actually thought that this couldn't possibly work, so I right click on the .jpg file and rename it to .pdf
Out of my amazement the file converted to customer_whatever.pdf
It was that simple --- Problem solved

Edit: install kim - right click on the .jpg>actions>kim-convert and rotate>convert to PDF - This solves it
Hope this helps someone else !
