sure, I am using the BlackRain Darkport Gnome theme in Openbox... the menu in gnome has small what looks like blue glowing arrows and the menu itself is rather shiny in gnome. I was wondering if I can copt/paste the code for the Gnome version into wherever the Openbox version lives.

Well the openbox menu is controlled by the openbox theme not the gtk theme.

Go through the themes here until you find one that fits what you are looking for.

I would not have said otherwise. I think that's just the right thing to do.

Ok, now I'm a little confused. I thought one of the reasons people use Linux was because they can customize it to their needs. I do know people mention on various sites it's possible to modify themes. I also thought that's part of the charm of "open-source".

Here's what my openbox desktop looks like so far. I will look for how one designs openbox themes.

I'm not usually a fan of dark themes but that looks quite nice.

Have we said you can't ? Isn't the above link a place where you can find all made themes among which you can choose one that might fit with your actual Gnome or GTK2 theme ?

There is another way if you have the skills, it's to make your own. This needs much work too, to learn how to do that, and learn to use the tools...
