i got the  message the first time op, thanks, was more commenting/thinking aloud than really fighting/arguing.

the important thing is we all know why it was flagged and how to cope with it.

in case you have more IPs coming from the same country, most possibly you ll get more flags, since i found out that there is one active spam bot reported for the ISP IP range ive been assigned for this session, as checked thru http://www.uceprotect.net/en/rblcheck.php.

Just my 2 cents worth if I may.
I drive a truck for a living and I'm out on the road 5 days a week. Each night when I stop to take my rest, I log on through either a truckstops WiFi, or if there is a wifi nearby somewhere. I guess I log on with different IP adresses every day.
I never had this sort of problem and I've been here close to 6 months or so now.

Who is your isp?

i see no reason for the question, but youre always free to cross check the IPs given and not "blurred out", as generally advised.

btw, maybe that should be done, to rule out the copycats ;)

@sixthwheel: seems youve been lucky, and as saying goes, using unencrypted/no security enabled wifi link is an invitation.

first time i did that, while under windows admin account (oh where would there be fun if...) i found my machine a bit stuck in the morning- got me a free days work. been using linux on it ever since till it got shut down, and even the router was open, so i believe that it was purposefully set that way...

on my ISP, i mentioned that before

Just trying to find out what is causing your problem as I have my own servers.

My isp is earthlink.net which anyone can find out , no big deal without passwords information is useless.

There is a good reason to ask such a question. Your ISP is rated as a level three risk, meaning it would be justified to block the entire range of IP addresses it controls, as it's not one or two isolated spammers but a spammers haven. The spammers control most of the range.

Evidently they haven't yet reached the trigger point for forums, specifically, or we wouldn't be having this conversation at all.  ;)

its clearly thte ISP thing and only my bad luck of being assigned the reported IP, since all the IPs using the 3g umts are dynamic. ive also noted that they tend to change the ranges, namely 212.xxx.xxx.xxx and 77.xxx.xxx.xxx.

hopefully someone of the admins/mods will clean up the IP mess laid down all around this post, i did all mine

unfortunately its not the NSA, and not all folks are computer literate, right, and especially not many here use linux to a satisfactory level so what would you expect. other than that, ive noticed that the 77.xxx.xxx.xxx range is not only assigned periodically to my country, but as well to neighbouring countries, and that is, due to economic circumstances, frequently a pirated windows heaven, so you get the idea.

btw, there are some registered pclos user groups for the region, as far as i know it.

and as i said, IP vs MAC filtering would do the magic, at least a bit better than all the rest, if one was not using the proxy to get to a seemingly other location.

i said that my future procedure before joining the forum would be to check the IP for being blacklisted, if not- get in, if yes, disconnect, check again, if not then again, use proxy- thats my ISP 1.
ISP 2 you have no trouble with, so believe we shall be having good chit chat for a long time

cheers

I use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 both are fast for me.
