My system is having dual boot with PCLinuxOS 2010.07 & Windows XP installed. The sound card is of Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 VX. Whenever I boot directly to PCLinuxOS 2010.07, the sound is not working. I can hear only white noise. It works fine in Windows XP. But if I boot first in Windows XP and then reboot, it works perfectly in PCLinuxOS 2010.07. But if I boot to PCLinuxOS 2010.07 immediately after power up, I only get white noise. I think some initialization is happening when I boot to Windows XP. Because of that after rebooting from Windows XP and booting to PCLinuxOS 2010.07 it's working.
Also when it works after rebooting Windows XP, only Front Left & Front Right speakers of my Creative Sound Blaster T6100 is working. How can I enable 5.1 channels for the speakers in PCLinuxOS 2010.07.
Please help.
