Here is a question for the knowledgeable? It kinda pertains to PCLinuxOS.
I have a NAS (2 hd raid 0) that decided to have a hardware failure. The drives appear to be good but the NAS hardware is not acting well. At all......WhenI plug in the drives to my PCLinux machine, I can see that there are 4 partitions on each drive and they are a linux friendly formatting. I can also easily see the 'data' partitions on each of the drives. I saw this in the 'cofigure your computer->hardware section.
What I am wondering about is, if I install the 2 HD's in my computer and select 'add to raid', what would I expect. I have never tried to build a raid in PCLinux before. Can anyone give me an insight to what I may expect or provide me with a link to a tutorial? What I am curious about is if I select the partitions and 'add to raid, will it try to stripe the raid or just read the existing data on the partition.
Any info would be helpful
