[SOLVED hardware issues] compaq NX6120 no device recognised in any USB port

Hi all
another noob needing help

I have tried USB drives,cams,TV tuners on my NX6120 laptop and Device Notifier does not recognise any of them
all are recognised on my 2 dell desktops (all running PCLOS_2010.07 and all updated after install)

lspci in konsole

Ok
seems maybe hardware issues, re installed XP.
USB works but windows throws error messages
from time to time regarding not recognizing the device attached
