2 ways to do this ---
1) use the command
rpm -Uvh fullname.rpm
Replace fullname.rpm with the exact name of the rpm.
2) Use rpm-installer
Open Synaptic > click Reload > click Mark All Upgrades > click Apply and again click Apply > click Search > enter rpm-installer > click search > right click the rpm-installer entry and mark for installation > click Apply and again click Apply
Now right click your rpm and choose to open it with rpm-installer.
Tried both options and the rpm doesnt install I think I'm gonna throw this Kodak C310 out the window I will just have to wait and see if any drivers will become available. I was talking to the bloke in the pc shop where I buy some of my supplies and he said hea has had loads of probs with this Kodak C310 printer too. I even tried updating the firmware thru Kodaks propriety software on Windows and it kept telling me the fimware has updated, then it tells me the firmware needs updating again Did the update thing about 20 times.
I thought I would try using Google Cloud printing to print but it wont allow the printer to b installed until the firmware is updated. No wonder Kodak has gone into bankruptcy protection, now I see why no cust service and No Linux support
Well it was worth a go anyway I don';t like things getting the better of me.
