Taskbar icons [SOLVED]
« on: September 12, 2010, 03:49:55 AM »
I've finally upgraded my KDE3.5 desktop installation to Phoenix, a completely new install, and as I expected everything works great and first time. The only issue I have is adding icons to the panel (taskbar). In KDE4, to add icons to the taskbar I just unlock widgets then right click on the app from the start menu. This doesn't work with Phoenix, in fact using the right click button on my mouse opens the selected app, just the same as using the left mouse button. Is this a missing feature of Phoenix or am I doing something wrong?

I will add for reference that the icons that already exist on the taskbar from the install are still there and still work.

Now thorper,

You really should read the magazine more closely. This was covered back when we talked about customizing the Xfce Panel.  ;D

;D ;D ;D ;D Quite true! I have been downloading the pdf version of the PCLinuxOS Magazine and refer to them often. Parnote, I've said it several times...Great job!
Learning one's way around a new desktop environment can be frustrating...I've had Xfce on a separate system for just over a week now...the tutorials in the magazine helped a lot!

Still, it was GENEROUS of Sproggy to provide another clear tutorial HERE. It helps to encourage more people to try Xfce. Me being one.  ;D ;D

Forget about sasquatch and extraterrestrials, it's those gul darn leprechauns we should be concerned about!
