[SOLVED] OpenOffice.org Writer - can't save documents

Hi,

Does anyone meet with this problem ? I typed a letter, and when ready to "Save it as", the window stays iddle at this stage, doesn't move anymore and blanks.

Htop doesn't show any sign of exceeded resources, memory and cpu use are even very low. I restarted OpenOffice and tried the restore function, but it opened a blank document : nothing of my work has been saved.

I tried to "save it as" before typing while the document was still empty : same problem.

So I can't use it, although it seems to be the latest version. Else, we can't get the components separately anymore from Synaptic, it's Getopenoffice : all, or nothing, which brings us to more than 450 MB used. I have installed Abiword, but I prefer to use Openoffice.

Hi Meoldie,
Just tried writing a document and saving. Both save and save as work ok for me.
Here is one solution for you.
I actually downgraded to Open Office 3.2.0, here is the link  I followed:

Since Open Offfice is managed by Oracle, I cannot print duplex from Open Office,
but can with kwrite. I never had this problem when Sun Microsystems managed
Open Office.

It is solved.

Get rid of the ooobasis3.2-kde-integration
 package, then:

<cbosdonnat> melodie, Tools > Options > General
<melodie> et ?
<cbosdonnat> melodie, Use OpenOffice.org dialogs
<melodie> ok, merci !

And it works.
