Zenmini-problem with mylivecd
« on: September 10, 2010, 02:48:29 AM »
I have installed Zenmini in a 50GB partition and fully updated with PASS server.
I have made a livecd.
When I tried to check whether it installs correctly, by typing Draklive-install, I got this message:
"Gtk-Message **: Failed to load module "gnomebreakpad": libgnomebreakpad.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory at /usr/lib/libDrakX/mygtk2.pm line 20"

It then proceeds with media/user etc.,
I don't know whether it is a harmless message, can anybody confirm ? (of course, I could check by installing, but am afraid of harming the existing installation.)
thanks and regards !

Hi shrinivas,

You could test it by using/installing Virtualbox (GetVirtualbox is in the repo's)
PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

Sony Vaio SVE1513A4ESI Laptop, Intel Core i5, 2.6GHz, 6GB RAM, 750GB, 15.6" Intel HD Graphics 4000

It does seem to install w/o any problems in Virtual Box.
But then, I am a noob so I probably don't even know how to check !
Thanks anyway !

Okay my friend if you want to install it, lets firstly guide you through the install stage.

Open Synaptic and do a Reload.  When that's done search for getvirtualbox and when it appears, right click it and choose "mark for Installation"; then press Apply

When the install has taken places click on your main Menu and choose:

More Applications > Emulators > GetVirtualBox

A window will appear asking if you want to install it etc (its a script which downloads the file directly from the Virtualbox web site)  Depending on your net connection speed you may need to give it a few minutes to download AND install.. After the install is complete, the install window that has been in view will say something like

VirtualBox has been installed successfully.

You will find useful information about using VirtualBox in the user manual
  /opt/VirtualBox/UserManual.pdf
and in the user FAQ
  http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/User_FAQ

We hope that you enjoy using VirtualBox.

When you press End (or Close or similar) the following will appear:

When you've done that we can then walk you through the next part.
PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

Oh ! I am extremely sorry menotu !
I did not mean that I did not know Virtual Box !
I just wrote that though I know it installs in VB, I wouldn't know whether it works correctly because other than internet and movies etc, I don't use the computer much.
You took so much trouble to explain, I am humbled by the reply.
thanks and regards, and sorry again !

Absolutely no need to apologize shrinivas, none whatsoever.  It's a small thing to try and help in a forum.

Remember, if you need any help just post again.

Have a nice day.

"libgnomebreakpad.so" is provided by bug-buddy. You can install it while in live mode; install perl-GTK2, also. Start draklive-install after installing it and see if there are any new messages generated.
