4.5.1 upgrade and desktop folders - plus sign/up arrow

I would swear that when I upgraded the folders on my desktop had both a plus sign and an up arrow symbol... when you clicked on the plus sign the folder was selected and when you clicked on the plus sign a panel opened with the contents of the folder.....

I don't have the up arrow any more (I think, maybe I'm just seeing things). Could someone please let me know if I am dreaming about this one and, if not, how do I get it back?

There was another post which I cannot find.

The arrow to show the folder is invisible and below the + sign, click where it should be.

You need to copy somesuch file into the oxygen somesuch file to make it work, cant find the post.
Once done it works as before, a glitch

Some of the themes in /usr/share/apps/desktoptheme have a file called action-overlays.svgz in the widgets subdirectory, some don't and some have a version of the file but without the up-arrows. You have to locate action-overlays.svgz in a theme with a correct one and copy it to the widgets directory of the theme you are using.

The same applies if you get your theme locally from ~/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme.

what I can't figure out is how any of this changed.... I had the arrows, changed nothing, and they vanished???
