[SOLVED] No touchpad options in KDE 4.5.1

If gsynaptics works fine then the hardware is detected and modules (drivers) are working. Are you sure synaptiks isn't working? Mine is working great, but I do get a popup message when logging in, I didn't notice what is says exactly, it's goes away too fast. I think gestures is mentioned in the message though, but it works as expected.

Do you have a "Touchpad Settings and Management" from Lost & Found section of System Settings? Mine has four sections on the left panel "Touchpad configuration", "Automatic touchpad control"  "Notifications" and "Touchpad information".

At what point do you get "Synaptic Gestures not available" message? When logging in, or when you access the Touchpad settings in System Settings control panel?

Try to leave gsynaptics installed and re-install synaptiks, then give us some more information (above).

Yes, when I had synaptiks installed I could access it in CD under Lost and Found.  However, when I set the touchpad to off and hit reply I then see the error message pop up, "gestures not available or found".  I will reinstall synaptiks and try it again.  One function that did work is that when I started typing the touchpad would stop working.  So some setting worked and other did not.  One other this is that I am using a wireless mouse, not sure if that would affect anything.
