After trying various apps to change my desktop wallpaper and having no succes, I stumbled on the "built in" answer. E17 has a module called, get this...slideshow. ironic, huh?
To install slideshow module, follow these steps--
Step 1
start -> settings -> modules
scroll down near the bottom of the list and you will see slideshow, select it, click "load" and click "close." You know its loaded when a green dot appears next to it.
Step 2
start -> settings -> gadgets
scroll down near the bottom of the list and you will see slideshow, saelect it,
click "add gadget" and then
click "apply" then
click "close."
You know its loaded when it appears on your shelf. Assuming you use a shelf.
To change setting -
right click on the icon and select "configuration" - from here you can set how often the wallpaper changes as well as the folder/directory the files are from.
UPDATE***After some trial and error. I noticed something -
You can't change the default source directory. You have to add all pictures you want before you install
slideshow or they don't get added.
Solution - Add all pics through Settings -> Wallpaper before you install/start slideshow. If you wish to add pics after you have installed it, you must "uninstall gadget" then reinstall it.
Enjoy E17
