when trying to boot, right after the pclinuxos blue splash screen with the logo, the screen turns black before the logon screen ..and it just sits there... thats not all... one of the ntfs partitions got screwed up ... i can see the icon in windows.. but i cant access it... WHY MY FIRST INSTALLS OF PCLINUXOS  IN ANY PC ARE ALWAYS LIKE THAT.. LOL... always a problem... jeez .. not the OS fault i know.. its my inexperience... help me guys thanks in advance

At the boot screen you have an option failsafe. Try it, please.
It seems you have some xorg inconsistency.

Not bad if you post here which installation option did you use, i.e Use existing partition or Custom or else. Describe generally the machine specificaion also please.
By the way I suppose the LiveCD itself boots normally, is it? Try "Media Check" option on it to see if you have problems with the disk+CD driver.

Waiting for you and for other guys to help... ;)
