[SOLVED] login/logout sound
« on: August 26, 2010, 08:19:34 AM »
I am starting a new thread on this issue because I have just found out that I get sound on logging in and out of Root but not as User. Ideas?

Check how the sound is configured in root, and compare it with your usersettings (maybe using screenshots from rootaccount, and look in your own account to compare them)

Which page are you referring to?

The sound configuration in PCC is exactly the same in both Root and User.

In Root/Kmix I have 4 active channels: Master, Front, PCM and Headphone and sound on login/logout is working fine. The same 4 channels are active in User but no sound. Can anyone help, please?

I thought to KMix, : did you check the hidden sliders?
=> there can be a difference between them, however it's impossible to see that without activating them

And also check the "Player Settings" tab (on the screenshot of coffeetime, you can see where that tab is located)

Many thanks coffeetime. My problem was using wav files instead of ogg.  :-[ Probably obsessed with my other still unresolved issue with Gmail sound notification that says "only wav".

OK, I'm happy to hear that,
but I thought that in the past it was possible to use .wav as systemsounds  ???
