Cannot install exaile due to dependency issue - python-cddb?
« on: August 25, 2010, 09:23:53 PM »
I'm reluctantly trying to replace Amarok since I can't get it working in 2010 gnome. I heard some great things about Exaile but when I try to install it in synaptic I get this message about unresolvable dependencies:

exaile:
Depends: python-cddb  but it is not installable

I searched for python-cddb and found "python-CDDB" and installed it.

I still get the same error message. How can I install this with or without synaptic?

Alternatively, please suggest a replacement for Amarok 1.4.

Thanks!

I've posted the same issue in another thread. http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,78481.0.html

The fix is out so I suggest that you reload your package manager and try installing it again :)

It doesn't work yet but rest assured, the fix will come in some time. Until then, if you really need a music player like Amarok 1.4, I recommend Clementine.
