How to set hotkeys in LXDE but not impact KDE?
« on: August 25, 2010, 06:21:32 PM »
I use KDE predominantly but sound in LXDE cannot be increased or decreased with hotkeys that work fine in KDE. I was advised before to use ACME, but doing so also leaves ACME running in KDE, which I do not want or need (ugly icon and duplicates a capability already working in KDE). Is there a way to set my hotkeys and actually have them work in LXDE just like they do in KDE (use same keys for both DE's without running any extra apps to do so)? I just don't want a conflict between DE's and what runs in each....just want them unique to themselves so I can switch back and forth seamlessly.

/home/<you>/.config/openbox/lxderc.xml is the file you are looking for.

I think I need an interpreter at this point. None of the file makes any sense to me. Any help? :) I just want hotkeys to work in LXDE like they do in KDE without an additional application installed.

I've never changed the keys on my install, so I have no experience to share. Melodie posted something on the subject in a thread on the openbox remaster. Try doing a search on her name with hot keys as the search term.
