samba and thunderbird email folder permissions.

My ./thunderbird folder has all share permissions enabled for my windows machine to back it up over samba. I keep getting "access denied" from my windows machine and I constantly have to right click on "./thunderbird"  properties, permissions, and apply changes to sub folders to get access again. (the permissions are set to can view and modify for all three settings). It appears some of the contents in the folder are getting locked down until I re-force the existing permissions.

How about fossick around in /var/log/samba/ there are some logs here, but I have never got around to investigate.   :D
