Hello PClinuxOS forum,
New Laptop can I use same PClinuxOS as I do on my desktop? will it be ok to try to use it for my laptop or will it break it?
I have a new Laptop It is a compaq presario notebook CQ42, with celeron dual core processor @1.9GHz 2Gb RAM 32bit operating system. It has windows 7 as the OS.
I have a disk I used for my desktop will it be ok to try to use it for my laptop or will it break it? My old PC 2002 Dell is a 2.6GHz 2Gb RAM 32bit and had XP as OS, it worked well with PClinuxOS2010 KDE.

Run it live, check "configure your computer" - "hardware" - (the first option) configure hardware

Look if it recognizes all your hardware and then post your questions.

If you install and want to keep Win7 make the partitions with the windows tool.

The installation image works the same on both laptop and desktop computers. You can use the same installation image you use to install on your desktop on your laptop and things should work as expected.

I have a friend who has the same laptop.  It works without any problem.. actually even better on my Acer laptop.
