Acer Aspire One Netbook N260 wireless driver
« on: August 14, 2010, 10:51:29 PM »
To whom it may concern....
I setup an Aspire One N260 Netbook this morning for PCLinuxOS 2010.7
BCM4313 wireless chipset from Broadcom...
$ lspci -vnn | grep 14e4          gave me result >
14e4:0510
I downloaded the WinXP driver from  http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Wireless%20LAN/Wireless%20LAN_Broadcom_5.60.350.6_XPx86_A.zip?acerid=634139190434258755&Step1=Netbook&Step2=Aspire%20One&Step3=AOD260&OS=X01&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=AAP_10  and unzipped driver folder WLAN_Broadcom_5.60.350.6_XPx86 to somewhere handy...
Then I setup my wireless using Windows driver with ndiswrapper> Install a new driver>  pointed to the folder WLAN_Broadcom_5.60.350.6_XPx86 to the file bcmwl5.inf and in it went... easy!  (The Win7 driver was useless)
BTW, also had to set master channel in Kmix to Speaker and cranked up the volume!  Webam worked out of the box.  No internal mic yet though...   (added mic and mic boost icons to mixer window and cranked up levels!)
