[SOLVED] AC status not detected quickly
« on: August 14, 2010, 11:47:49 AM »
Hello everyone.

Whenever I plug in my AC power supply my laptop doesn't change quickly.  What it should do is say that the AC is plugged in, and then change the brightness of the screen (among other things).

When I use acpi_listen to see if the laptop detects when the battery is discharging it shows nothing.  Yet when I look at the file /sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/status it says whether the battery is discharging or not.

I don't know whether it's KDE or ACPI, or something completely different. ???

This may have been fixed, but I don't exactly know how.

I first uninstalled ACPI and then, trying another configuration, I rebooted and then reinstalled ACPI.  After that didn't work I used atieventsd in some way, and that worked.  Also I have removed powernow and replaced it with powersave, as well as guidance-power-manager.  That seems to have done the trick for now.
