to stay on topic:

how is it possible to use the reg update using the stable repo following the instructions and have the system borked?

it has happened and i will not give an example

btw, the amarok problem seems to be the the issue in others distros as well, not only this one.

May be you highlighted a part of the answer to this very complicated matter in your last sentence.

One more thought that I'm thinking: your simple and constricted question accepts supposes implicitly simple and constricted case.

But do you know the question to the answer 42? >:(

every man for himself, it seems so (on the 42). id have quite convenient religious parallel on the number or years in service/number of post but following the guidelines/rules set, i wont be posting that. i think i should find years old posts not locked and simply start placing +1 marks to gain respect ;)

i got and know all i need, so maybe i dont need and wont be doing that to grow in some shady eyes

btw, we went thru the issue and that has magically disappeared, you know that well, uncleV (this looks funny now, but its my initial as well ;) )

The really great thing about the rolling update strategy is that once you become familiar with the schedule, which doesn't take long, you can accurately predict and therefore plan ahead of time when you can be away from your desk to undertake other more pressing tasks while you wait for the fixes to arrive ::)  ;D  :D  ;)  :-*
