[SOLVED] Samsung ML-1666 printer installation problem
« on: August 08, 2010, 08:05:21 AM »
Hi friends !
I connected Samsung ML-1666 to my PCLOS desktop USB port and configured using PCC > Hardware>Printer. It detects the printer as ML-1660 and asks for selecting a compatible model for driver installation to which I selected ML-1610. But when I issue print command, it works as if printing the page but when the page comes out it turns out to be blank. I tried some other models also but without success. Any advice / suggestion ?

***************************
I downloaded the driver  Samsung UnifiedLinuxDriver_0.86.tar.gz -> extracted the archive with sub-folder auto-detect option->it created a sub-folder cdroot and under it an 'autorun' program, double clicking of which installed the ML-1660 series driver at USB port mfp:/dev/mfp4. So the trick is not to invoke PCC>Hardware>Printer mode as done by me earlier which took to wrong device name and driver options. Enjoy printing using world's smallest laser printer as claimed by Samsung! Bye.
