These "Graphics" applications are broken and/or crashing all the time I try to use them:

Shotwell
Digikam
F-Spot
GTKam
Flphoto
Rapid-Photo_Downloader

My Specs: Gnome 2010.07 fully updated, My camera: Nikon CoolPix s220.

P.S. All the programs for downloading photos from digital cameras that I've tried are broken/crashing, trying to find an answer to this situation... ??? >:( >:(

The PCLinuxOS team didn't write these applications. They are provided to you. I have not seen many other people having problems with these apps.

Perhaps a few more details about what is happening might be helpful.

try to run one of them from the terminal and report the output you are getting when they crash. I suspect there is a problem somewhere with a library they all have in common
.. 3 things are certain in life : death, taxes and software bloat ..
.. tell me something i don't know, something i can use as i struggle to reason with the world around me ..

That's the problem, don't know what's happening...

I'm having the same problem with digiKam. Mine is fully updated KDE4. My camera is a Kodak, digiKam was working prior to this update today.

OK! will try tomorow to install camera and run the applications from terminal, I know these apps are provided not created by the devs of pclinux, just wondering if anyone else who is using pclinuxos is having these issues???

The Imagemagick update really messed things up. It needed libjpeg8 to compile properly but was still linking convert, display etc to libjpeg62. The only solution is to update/rebuild everything linked to libjpeg62 to libjpeg8. I finally got Imagemagick  convert, display etc to link properly to libjpeg8 today but there are many things that have to be updated/rebuilt to link properly to the right jpeg library. There is a sequence of packages that have to be built and rebuilt. It will take a few days before things get updated on the repos so hang tight.
