Author Topic: (Solved) I cannot make changes to my profile... my password is rejected.  (Read 713 times)

I am unable to change my password in my profile.

After typing in the desired information, I enter my current password at the bottom of the page, as directed. This is the password that I use to sign into the forum. It is rejected as being incorrect. I have carefully entered it multiple times, to no avail. I have performed a search n the forum as well as with Google.
Am I using the correct password, or is there another I am supposed to use?

Hi jrj350.

Log out.

Press the I forgot my password button. E-mail will be sent to Your account. Follow the instructions.

Reset Your password to make sure You are using the correct one. Make it something short and simple (dont worry - just for a few mins.)

I had this buddy. I used VERY complicated password and forum accepted it when I was logging in but not when I tried changing the details.

Now after You change all the settings redo all the steps and setup a long and complicated password again or You can change password to a complicated one from the Profile / Settings page.

Will that do?

Andy

In general thats how most of my passwords looks like (except for some pages that wont allow more then 12 characters and no special characters in the passphrase and only low case letters and numbers... DOH). Try bruteforcing it with dictionary attack even using the clusters :)... and see You in next life.

Passwords are completly random and secured so noone can listen to You generating that (https protocol)

https://www.grc.com/passwords.htm

And I am not crazy enough to remember them all but I am smart enough to not to use Firefox password manager to store them...

BTW... to make sure that the password generator will not save the generated password with my IP addy and other info I am always changing the generated password by swapping / changings some characters ;). Sometimes I am generating 4 and just playing with them and creating one verrrrrrrrrry long password...

Polish words are easy to break with the bruteforce dictionary attacks :).
